# Flag artwork

These are transparent extracts of actual flag artwork from
[flag-icons](https://github.com/lipis/flag-icons), copyright Panayiotis Lipiridis,
distributed under the included MIT license. Downloaded 2026-10-02.

- al.svg: Albania, double-headed eagle
- lk.svg: Sri Lanka, lion holding a sword
- bt.svg: Bhutan, thunder dragon
- gb-wls.svg: Wales, red dragon
- ca.svg: Canada, maple leaf
- kz.svg: Kazakhstan, sun and eagle, ornamental border removed
- sa.svg: Saudi Arabia, sword only
- hk.svg: Hong Kong, bauhinia flower
- mo.svg: Macao, lotus, bridge and stars
- ar.svg: Argentina, Sun of May
- uy.svg: Uruguay, sun
- kr.svg: South Korea, taegeuk, surrounding trigrams removed

The SVGs preserve source geometry and color; background shapes were removed.
PNGs were rendered from those extracts and cropped to transparent bounds at
up to 512 pixels. Metadata is stored in src/flag-charges.js; PNG data modules produce
self-contained exports. tools/extract-flag-charges.py records the extraction.

Additional emblems were extracted with tools/extract-more-charges.py and rendered at up to 384 pixels. PNG artwork is embedded in individual src/charge-data modules, loaded only when an emblem is used.
